picoChip has strengthened its advisory board with the appointment of Professor Wang Wenbo, Professor and Dean of School of Telecommunication Engineering at the Beijing University of Posts & Telecommunications.
One of the world’s leading authorities in the field of digital signal processing and wireless communications, Professor Wang joins existing members of the board Professor Simon Saunders and Professor David May.
Guillaume d’Eyssautier, President and CEO of picoChip, commented, “We are delighted to welcome Professor Wang to this key advisory role within picoChip. His reputation in the wireless community is global, and his role in underpinning the technological base of our company will be a key one. We believe that his appointment will further strengthen our relationships in China, which we see as one of the key areas in today’s global economy.”
Professor Wang’s expertise and reputation in wireless communications is a significant complement to Professor Saunders’ knowledge of indoor propagation (WiFi and femtocell), and Professor May’s standing in the field of computer architectures and multi-core processing. He currently leads BUPT’s award-winning Wireless Signal Processing & Network Lab (WSPN), has authored, co-authored or edited four books, and published over 200 papers.
In addition to his role at BUPT, Professor Wang is a member of the standing committee of Beijing Institute of Communication, and spent a period in the US working in a commercial R&D role. His current research interests include 3G, B3G and WiMAX radio transmission technology, wireless network theory, digital signal processing and software radio technology.
